Ontario Is Experiencing A Spike in Covid Cases

Public Health Ontario has recorded 1,426 new Covid cases. The past five days have experienced a spike in Covid 19 cases. The public health agency also reported 15 new deaths. Four of the people were between the ages of 60 and 79. Eleven of the people who were over the age of 80. Seven of the people who died were in a long-term care facility.

There are currently 30 people who are in the hospital for coronavirus. Three patients are in the intensive care unit.

Where the Spikes Are Coming From

One hundred and ninety-eight cases have been linked to schools. One hundred and sixteen students received a Covid 19 positive test. There were twenty-one staff members diagnosed with Covid 19. Sixty-one cases could not be identified. There have been 3,063 cases linked to schools. Nearly one-third of those cases have been reported within the past 14 days.

Eighty-one of the people who make up the nearly 1,500 new Covid 19 cases in Canada are over the age of 80. One hundred and seventy-three people are between the ages of 60 and 79. Four hundred and eight people are between the ages of 40 and 59. Five hundred and thirty-six people are between the ages of 20 and 36. The remaining people were under the age of 19.

According to Public Health Ontario, the country has had 88,209 confirmed Covid 19 cases. There have been 3,275 deaths. Simcoe Muskoka Health District has had 1,506 Covid 19 cases. Eight people in the region are currently hospitalized with Covid 19. The unit has had a total of 50 deaths.

Preventing the Spread of Covid 19

Like many other countries, Canada has experienced a Covid 19 spikes. There is nothing that you can do that will 100 percent stop you from getting Covid 19. However, there are a few things that you will need to do in order to prevent Covid 19 from spreading. Experts recommend that you wear a mask when you are out in a public place. It is also a good idea for you to get practice social distancing.

Canada experienced a spike in Covid 19 cases after the Thanksgiving holiday. Even though the holidays are coming up, it is still a good idea for you to avoid large gatherings. Experts recommend keeping your gatherings to 10 or less people.
