Canada is home to many technology companies, ranging from startups to corporations. Some of them have been in the news lately.
Maple
Maple is a Canadian technology startup based in Toronto, Ontario. It was founded in 2015 and is a telemedicine platform. Patients can connect with doctors online in just minutes 24/7. They can communicate by text or video chat. Doctors can offer treatment and prescribe digital prescriptions.
It was announced on Nov. 18 that Green Shield Canada is now offering its members free access to Maple for a three-month period. This was done because flu season is underway and over concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic. Maple is available across all of Canada’s provinces and territories.
Green Shield Canada members can have up to four doctor consultations through Maple during the three-month period. If they need a prescription, it is provided through PocketPills. PocketPills is one of Canada’s leading E-Pharmacies. Prescriptions are delivered to each patient’s door.
Flybits
Flybits is a tech startup that was founded in 2013 and is based in Toronto. Its services are for other businesses and allow them to use real-time information to learn about what their customers are doing on their mobile app. Data, such as risk profiles, are analyzed using artificial intelligence and machine learning to help companies offer their customers content at the right time.
Many Canadian financial institutions use Flybits technology. To better serve their customers, Flybits joined Avoloq.one earlier this year. By working together, they help banks and wealth management companies have a way to easily access the Flybits platform. Chief Growth Officer Gerti Dervishi said the partnership plays well to his company’s strategy of empowering customers.
Unbounce
Unbounce was founded in 2009 in Vancouver, BC. At the time, landing pages were just a concept. Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Rick Perreault decided to help marketers get a better experience when launching advertising campaigns. Unbounce now has over 15,000 customers around the world. It also hosts the Call to Action Conference every year. The conference is for advertising professionals.
Unbounce’s business has been doing very well during the COVID-19 pandemic. Industry insiders expect the landing page industry to continue expanding at a faster rate through 2026. The reason for the growth is more investments in the industry. Other reasons for the growth include cost, price, revenue, profits, supply and demand, and import and export consumption. Analysts said companies can use Unbounce’s service to compete more effectively against their competitors.
