The health association in Canada has approved the usage of a portable device called bCUBE to be used in covid19 mass testing. A key advantage to using this device is that it is portable and gives accurate covid19 results on the spot. The device’s approval comes at the time Canada is experiencing a surge in covid19 infections, and the hospitals were getting overwhelmed with patients. One could term this device as a DNA- testing lab that is moveable. Hyris bCUBE can be controlled using any device, including smartphones, as long as it is connected to the internet. The device utilizes the cloud-based platform to analyze the samples collected and delivers precise results anytime, anywhere.
The Advantages of Using Hyris bCUBE
Before Canada approved this device’s use in human testing, it was being used by health practitioners in surface testing. By using this device, Canadians, especially business persons, can access testing services quicker, less aggressive, and precisely from any region of the country. The device has come to help the vulnerable or less fortunate communities in Canada who faced a significant challenge in accessing covid19 testing facilities.
The Health-care State in Canada
The invention of the Hyris Bcube has come at a time when hospitals are issuing registered nurses with notices that they are going to be laid off so that they can balance their books. These were the same nurses addressed as heroes or stars after a surge in covid19 infections was experienced in Canada. For instance, Lakeridge hospital has written to the Ontario Nurses’ Association that it wishes to lay-off a total of fourteen registered nurses from various departments in the hospital in order to balance its books. The president of the Ontario Nurses’ Association said it was a pity that several employers are cutting nurses in the midst of a pandemic that no one knows when it will come to an end. Dr. McKenna says that the news of the laying-off of registered nurses is disheartening to hear. The nurses being laid-off at Lakeridge hospital used to provide the best and first-rate health-care services to their patients. This included patients from the highly infectious disease unit, surgical departments, and the medicine units. The action to lay-off nurses can be termed as outrageous.
The Effect of Laying-off Nurses
Dr. Vicki McKenna says that hospital management in Canada has not yet learned its lesson regarding laying-off nurses. Research has revealed that laying-off registered nurses reduces the effectiveness of the health-care services provided. Hence, the hospital will experience a 7% increase in patients suffering from complications, and the death toll also increases.
ONA’s Plea to the Government
Ontario Nurses’ Association represents more than sixty thousand registered nurses and other medical practitioners. They also have more than eighteen thousand student affiliations that help health-care services in hospitals and clinics. ONA is making a plea to the government to interfere and stop the laying-off of registered nurses in Canadian hospitals. They also have asked citizens to do the same since they are the ones who benefit from the services rendered by these nurses.
