We all appreciate the fantastic work that medical doctors all around the world do. But do we ever stop even just for a second and consider what it would be like if there were no doctors? Or even just the idea of an organized fraternity? If you have, you probably thought of the people making up the organization because, without them, there won’t even be a medical fraternity.

Canadian Medical Hall of Fame takes its time to consider every personal achievement made by these significant individuals. People that make us feel safe going to health centers for the smallest of reasons. This article focuses on Dr. Naranjan S. Dhalla, an Inductee for the 2019 Hall of Fame.

Personal and Educational history

Dr. Naranjan S. Dhalla was born in India on the 10th of October, 1936. He earned his Ph.D. in 1965 from the University of Pittsburgh.

Career

He is a renowned Professor at Max Rady College of Medicine, where he teaches Physiology and Pathology.

He is the founding father of international ganizations of heart science. One of the organizations, the International Society of Heart Research, is committed to researching the field. The other organization, the International Academy of Heart Sciences, is committed to promoting cardiac health education and is involved mainly in the community. This international organization has so far integrated many 3rd world countries and regions into acquiring knowledge on heart matters and health globally.

Accomplishments

During his career as secretary-general for ISHR, he has extended health benefits from heart research worldwide carefully powered by IACS. The research in both Canada and internationally has considerably strengthened due to Dr. Dhalla’s effort to make research in cardiac science international.

For decades he was the president of ISHR and not less than 50 years. He was editor in chief for cardiac research journals like ‘Canadian journal of cardiology’ and ‘molecular and cellular biochemistry’ including many more publications both locally and internationally.

Awards

His most outstanding awards include the Order from Canada and honored by a medal by the CMA from Canada and many more from different countries and universities. The royal society of Canada honored him. He is the Professor Honoris Causa of Carol Davila University in Canada.

He has been honored over 100 times and awarded due to his many life-changing accomplishments. His accomplishments have made considerable improvements in the world’s health system and medical practices. People are granting hope and promising that they will get better and quality health care.

His research is selflessly shared within the global community strengthening scientific research. His tremendous service to the glob at large Dr. Narajan was officially made the Honorary Life President is IACS. At the same time, he received an award from various higher education institutions as Honourary Doctorate Degrees.

Passing along the wisdom that lies with his success is perhaps the most remarkable achievement he has made. His knowledge also comes in over 600 abstracts, 200 articles as a book chapter, and 600 other research articles. In the medical world, he has either written or edited over 40 textbooks on cardiac maters. He has spoken at international and local conferences and universities globally, totaling to at least 500 in number. It’s no wonder his inquiries have been in the uncountable mentioning periods. In his specialty as a heart doctor, he researches the causes of cardiac illnesses.

People like Dr. Dhalla give humanity inspiration to acquire endless knowledge on whatever will prove profitable to humanity. Crossing the boundaries of race and ethnicity, he has shared invaluable information on cardiovascular research that has saved millions of lives. Due to his hard work at ensuring that humanity will never lack information on saving lives, it’s now possible to save people’s lives with heart conditions.

It just goes a long way to prove that nothing is impossible to achieve with a little effort and the best interests of humanity at heart.
