Royal Bank of Canada
This is a multinational financial institution. Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is noteworthy as Canada’s largest bank in relation to capitalization in the market. RBC has more than 16 million clients.
The bank has over 86,000 employees throughout the world. It was founded in 1864. Originally opened in Halifax, Nova Scotia, its headquarters are located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The corporate offices are actually in Toronto in Ontario.
Hudson’s Bay Company
This company is in the retail sector. Its location in Canada makes it the oldest store in the entire continent of North America. Hudson’s Bay Company was founded in 1670. Two entrepreneurs of French descent, both of whom were fur traders, were the founders. The original store is located in the Hudson’s Bay area of Canada. The company sells many fast food items, and there are currently over 90 locations.
Robin Hood Flour
For over 100 years, bakers have stocked their kitchens with Robin Hood brand flour. The company was launched in 1900. The Robin Hood company is known for its bright yellow bag. The firm sells its flour in the retail and wholesale markets.
Toronto-Dominion Bank
Toronto-Dominion Bank is also known as TD in Canada and other locations. The institution ranks as one of the top banks across the dominion. It is also considered one of the largest banks across the globe. TD Bank is the second largest bank in Canada.
Toronto-Dominion Bank was part of a merger that was completed between Bank of Toronto and The Dominion Bank. The latter was founded in 1869. TD was formed as a result of the merger in 1955.
Ganong Bros. Limited
Tons of candy emerge out of the factories of this company every year. It is one of the largest chocolate firm’s in the widespread industry in the region. Mr. Arthur Ganong was the founder of Ganong Bros. Limited. He is said to be the first person to manufacture the popular wrapped chocolate candy bar.
Ganong launched the first candy bar in 1910. Approximately a decade later, the firm decided to add the brand name of “Pal-o-Mine” to its products according to information obtained about the company.
Ganong Bros. is also known for other “firsts” in the chocolate candy market. The company became the first chocolate maker in North America to market their candies in a heart-shaped box. The product soon became popular for year-round gift giving.
