The Parole Board of Canada decided to grant parole to Marco Muzzo. He is a Toronto man who is responsible for one of Canada’s worst drunk driving accidents in history. He is a member of the one of the wealthiest families in Canada. Marco had just arrived in Canada from a bachelor party.

He was very drunk, but he decided that it would be a good idea for him to drive home. He ran a stop sign and hit a minivan with a grandfather and his three young grandchildren. They were all killed. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016. However, he has been on parole since April 2020. He will be able to drive again in just eight years.

There are over 1,500 fatal drunk driving accidents in Canada each year. This means that Canada has one of the worst drunk driving rates in the world. Interestingly, Canada has one of the most lenient punishments for people who drive while they are drunk.

Matthew Junkert killed Terri Callaway while he was driving drunk. Terri was a mother of four who was going out for a jog. This happened in 2006. Matthew received parole after serving just 2.5 years in prison.

Michael Gerald Cooper killed a couple while he was driving drunk. He is one of the few people in Canada who has served a full sentence for driving while drunk. He served seven years in prison. When he was released from prison, people protested to make sure that he would never be able to buy alcohol again.

Chad Olsen killed a couple while he was out driving drunk. They were the parents of five children. He only served seven months in prison before he was released on parole. To make matters worse, he has been able to drive since 2018.

Sandra Green is the mother of Krista Howe, who is one of the victims. She stated that she is not mad at Chad. She is mad at the loopholes in the legal system.
