Organon Canada Launches as Company Focused on Women’s Health

Organon Canada is a startup focused on women’s health. While it’s a new company, Organon Canada is global in scope. It is based in Kirkland, Quebec, and plans to become a leader in women’s health and biosimilar. It is led by Managing Director and President Michael Casia.

Organon Canada has a portfolio of biosimilar medicines designed to improve women’s health, make the healthcare industry more sustainable and bring down costs. The biosimilar treat conditions that largely affect women. Its medicines are reliable, safe and effective. Organon Canada’s 60 medicines and products are being released in over 140 markets around the world. It expects to earn over 80% of its annual revenue from markets outside the United States.

Pembina Buys Inter Pipeline

Pembina Pipeline Corp is an energy transportation company based in Calgary, Alberta. It announced on June 1 that it is buying the Inter Pipeline for C$8.3 billion (USD$6.9 billion). The purchase will result in Pembina being one of Canada’s largest oil and gas transportation companies. The Inter Pipeline had been targeted by Brookfield Infrastructure Partners for a hostile takeover.

Once the deal is completed, Pembina will have about 25,000 kilometers of oil and gas pipelines. Most of these are in Western Canada. Pembina also owns energy processing plants and storage facilities. Pembina has been benefiting from the increasing demand for oil and gas after it was depressed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

JBS Canada Reopens Beef Processing Plant

The beef processing plant of JBS Canada was closed after a major cyberattack. It resumed normal operation as of June 2. The cyberattack affected JBS across North America and Australia. JBS is a global company with its headquarters in Brazil. It’s the largest producer of beef, pork and chicken in the United States.

JBS Canada has over 2,800 employees at its beef processing facility. Many had their shifts cancelled on Monday and Tuesday. JBS Canada could reopen quickly as its backup servers weren’t affected by the cyberattack. There isn’t any sign that employee, customer or supplier information was compromised.
