Dr. Leila Kasrai: A Plastic Surgeon in the Canadian Medical Community

Dr. Leila Kasrai always wanted to be a part of the medical field from a young age. At 14 years, she visited a local medical facility in Iran. She was brought up in a family of researchers and valued the role of doctors in the healthcare industry.

Early Medical Career

For a short while, Dr. Leila Kasrai resided in Cambridge, England, and relocated to London, Ontario. It was during her time in Canada that she got her MD degree in 1994 from Western Ontario University. While in her residency, Dr. Leila Kasrai found her passion in the world of plastic surgery. At the end of her plastic surgery rotation, she began making milestones way ahead of her colleagues.

The attending plastic surgeon inspired her career and encouraged her to join a training program in Toronto, Canada. After completing her residency and Toronto University, she moved on to get her Plastic Surgery Fellowship at RCSC (Royal College of Surgeons of Canada).

Renowned Plastic Surgeon

The University of Toronto has one of the largest medical schools in the world. Dr. Leila Kasrai serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the learning facility. She teaches medical students and residents contemporary and conventional surgical techniques. Dr. Leila Kasrai was the Chief of Plastic Surgery serving at Toronto-based St. Joseph Health Center.

While at St. Joseph Health Canter, she oversaw a surgical team that did reconstructive plastic surgery for kids and adults. Dr. Leila Kasrai also worked at the Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery department in the hospital.

Dr. Leila Kasrai has experience working as an otoplasty plastic surgeon based in Toronto. Through Dr. Saturo Nagata, Kasrai has gained enough training in ear reconstruction. Dr. Saturo Nagata is a widely acknowledges plastic surgeon responsible for the invention of the Nagata auricular reconstruction technique. Her approach has been used for auricular reconstruction all around the world.

Kasrai has done more than 2000 otoplasty surgical procedures. She has earned her national acclamation as an ear reconstruction specialist. Some of her work is covered in medical journals, including the formal journal for the Plastic Surgeons Society in Canada.
