Canada is a country with a diverse landscape and people. It has been said that Canada is the United States’ hat, but it’s also its own unique entity. The best way to get a feel for what life in Canada is like, aside from visiting the country yourself, would be to watch some of its excellent shows on Canadian Netflix. 1) Letterkenny
Letterkenny is a small town in Canada and this Canadian show takes place there. It’s funny because it has the same charm as another famous sitcom – Trailer Park Boys. The dialogue between characters on Letterkenny reminds us of that from Trailer Park Boys, but instead of living in a trailer park, everyone here lives in a small town. Letterkenny is a Canadian show on Netflix that takes place in a small, rural town and it’s hilarious! Similar to other shows like Trailer Park Boys, the dialogue between characters has that same type of humor. If you’re looking for something funny but different from your normal American comedy sitcoms, this would be a good one.
2) The Trailer Park Boys
Another Canadian show that takes place in a small town, but this time it’s not just funny – it’s downright hilarious! This is the type of comedy you would see on Saturday Night Live, written by some of its writers. It does for Canada what shows as South Park does for America (although they are technically American shows). If you’re a fan of South Park, then The Trailer Park Boys is perfect for you. It’s full of the same type of humor, but instead takes place in Canada and has all Canadian characters.
3) Heartland
Heartland is an award-winning family drama that follows the lives of a mother and daughter who run a horse ranch in Canada. If you’re looking for something less comedic but still entertaining, this would be a good show to watch on Netflix Canada. It’s heartwarming and very easy to get into – almost anyone can enjoy watching this show.
4) Orphan Black
Orphan Black is a show about clones, but not the type of clones you would expect. The lead character in this Canadian Netflix original series discovers that she’s one of many clones and has to fight for her life against other identical versions of herself who are involved with some pretty bad people. It’s an interesting premise and fairly easy to get into.
